The Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle has been awarded the coveted Rotary Banner as the Number One Club having contributed the most financially to the Charity arm of Rotary Foundation within the North West Area.
The Rotary Foundation use the funds to finance projects both locally and nationally, promoting worldwide campaigns such as the eradication of polio, poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition. Rotary Clubs can apply to Foundation to invest in projects, again both locally and nationally.
During a club meeting on Monday 16th December, South East Assistant Governor Miles Leadbeater presented the banner to President Doreen Lawton. The Assistant Governor spoke on behalf of the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation acknowledging the achievement of members in support of the Fund.
President Doreen praised members of the club for gaining this honour from the seventy four Rotary Clubs within the North West Area.
