ROTARY HELPS THE ROSSENDALE AND PENDLE MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAM

The Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle has come to the aid of the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team by organising a Cabaret Night at the Poplar Club to raise funds for this organisation who are always on hand to assist people who need help, when out walking or climbing the local countryside.

The area covered by the Mountain Rescue Team covers a variety of terrain from peaty moorlands, heathered slopes, wooded areas, semi- rural farmland and town parks. Not to mention the urban and industrial landscape.

Along the way the Mountain Rescue Team take in Bacup, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Haslingden and Rawtenstall not to forget the beautiful Pendle Hill.

Rotarian Ian McTurk Fundraiser for the Rotary Club who organised the Concert paid tribute to the Mountain Rescue Team saying This splendid voluntary organisation are to be commended for all the work that members carry out, which is done on a 24hour, 7day basis.
