The annual Walk 4 Your Charity organised by the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle will take place on Sunday 18th May, starting at 9.30 am from the Business Park (Junction 7) Clayton le Moors-opposite from the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
The 2014 Charity Walk will offer people the choice of a 10k or 5 k route as in previous years the 10k Walk will take walkers along the Leeds and Liverpool canal and through Great Harwood before returning to the business park. The 5k route will take walkers through Rishton and Great Harwood before returning to the business park.
Annually more than 600 fundraisers take part in the Walk 4 Your Charity which raises approximately £40,000. This is the largest charity walk event that takes place in Hyndburn. Although Rotary organises the Walk the walkers raise money through sponsorship for the charity of their choice. Many local organisations benefit from funds raised by individuals taking part, from local Scout groups and Football teams to local Hospice and other Cancer organisations.
Sally Naden from BBC Radio Lancashire has kindly agreed to be our star personality and will lead off the 10k walk.
Please put this date in your diary, in early February we will advise walkers how to register and also details on the “fancy dress” competition and other attractions.
