Oliver Erber a student at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School who entered the Intermediate Young Writer competition organised by the 71 Rotary Clubs in the North of England has claimed first prize.
This is a significant achievement and the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle who were involved in this event are delighted that Oliver and the school have come out on top. This is the first time the Rotary club has had a winning entry and credit should go to Business Manager Carmel Cunliffe who was very much the link between the Rotary club and the school.
Oliver’s entry now goes forward to the Rotary national competition and hopefully the excellent piece of writing will gain further recognition.
Albert Wilkinson Youth Chairman for the Rotary club of Church and Oswaldtwistle said “both the school and our club are very proud of Oliver, he has shown exceptional skill in producing this winning entry against entries from the many Rotary clubs in the North West”
The Rotary club of Church and Oswaldtwistle are very much involved with various projects at Rhyddings High School and recently took part in the “Employability”Awards evening and the School also contributed £500 to the Nepal Water scheme which the students raised by various fundraising activities.
