Children and parents in Oswaldtwistle and adjoining Districts will see Santa and his sleigh tour the streets for the next 3 weeks. Members and friends of the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle will assist Santa in bringing a real festive atmosphere to the town, as they have done for the past 30 years.

The sleigh has been refurbished and looks very smart in its new livery and illuminated signs together with a better sound system. Ian McTurk President of the club paid this tribute saying” Rotarians and Friend of Rotary, Philip Wardle have done a magnificent job carrying out the work at weekends to really improve the appearance of the sleigh. Also it is very pleasing that during the next 3 weeks all club Rotarians will be helping out on the various roles to ensure a successful outcome.”

Ken Freeman, Chairman of Fundraising for the club said “Taking Santa and the sleigh around the district is a project showing the real face of Rotary and thanks to the public the amount raised, usually in excess of £3,000 is our largest contributor to our annual Fundraising amount-all of which goes to local, national and International charities and good causes.”

The first evening when the sleigh commences touring the streets of Oswaldtwistle  is Tuesday 2nd December, with the final outing being on Monday 23rd December. For people who have online facilities they can check out the daily route by following the link:
