As most of you are aware we reached the final of the District Grey Games for the first time in our history. Our opponents were Ambleside Kirkstone and the match was played on the 25th April.
We had to make the tortuous journey to Carnforth (a neutral venue) –a distance of 45 miles. We all piled into Alan Leeming’s Merc.and arrived there 35 minutes later. He made up for this on the way back, put his foot down and clipped 5 minutes off the return journey.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and in a very pleasant venue we had narrow losses across the 5 disciplines.
The District Governor was on hand to give Ambleside the winner’s trophy.
Well done to all team members on reaching the final:
Ian Mcturk , Richard Wallwork, Alan Leeming, Jim Hargreaves, Mohammed Aslam, Ron Pickup, Stuart Duhan, Mike Hindle, and anyone else I may have forgotten.
