Our club is one of the few in the Rotary International, District 1190 (Lancashire & Cumbria), which offers Corporate Membership of Rotary to businesses, schools, companies and other organisations. Naturally we are a mixed gender club of 30 members, residing all across Hyndburn, Blackburn with Darwen and the Ribble Valley.
We meet weekly at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, for an optional light meal and discuss matters that relate to the many aims and objectives of the club. Our meeting times are daytime and/or evening and there are no minimum attendance requirements.
Whether your organisation has a Policy of ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ or not, Corporate Membership allows up to four members of staff from a company or school, to be as fully involved with Rotary in their local community, as they wish. One of these four individuals, usually the MD, Senior Management or Head of school, is the main link with the Rotary Club; this person being named the main ‘Corporate Member’ and the other three being named the ‘Associate Corporate’ members.
Corporate membership of Rotary International opens up a whole new area of contacts for networking opportunities, for utilizing organisational skills, public speaking, team building, additional social circles and much more.
The lead Corporate member nominates the additional three members from their own organisation; members who understandably may change from time to time as people are promoted, move jobs, retire, transfer in work, etc.
All four can be as involved as they wish, with attending any Rotary meetings or events, joining various committees becoming committee chairs etc.
Up to four of your staff can join our Rotary club for the price of one standard membership fee!
Our main recruitment criterion generally is; ‘Community minded persons of good character’.
